How to decipher the *05 display 1

We have a Merlin Legend system. I know this is a basic question but I am a newbie to phone systems. When I press *05 I get: 3.1 V2.0
Am I correct is assuming this is a Version 2.0 system that will use WINSPM 2.0 ? And all the programming documentaton should be for 2.0 ? Lastly is the 3.1 the release of the processor ? Any details on this sure would be appreciated.

This means your processor is release 3.1, version 2. This just means there was a version 1 of release 3.1 at some point. WinSPM R1 or higher should work fine with this release processor.
