how to cycle through nodes?

what i have is a group of text boxes that each display data about a particular person thats held in a XML document. i want to press a button and go onto display the next person in the xml document. each person is assigned an ID number eg, <id> 1</id>

please help! i cant go home from work till ive got this working!!
