I used a screen-recorder to record a friend who was on webcam. But I recorded the whole screen and not just the camvideo, does anyone know how to remove the parts around the camvideo? My housemate has premiere pro 7.0 but he only just got it and doesn't know how to do this simple(?) thing either. I want to select the area I want to keep and cut off the rest, what's the easiest way to do this?

thanks

Several ways to this, but probably the most relevant to your problem are:

1. Use Motion on the clip on the timeline to zoom in to the area of interest, thus pushing unwanted areas off the screen. Using keyframes with Motion allows you to change the viewpoint as required.

or 2. The clip or crop filters remove the edges under your control - one replaces with black/transparent, the other expands the remainder to fit the screen.
