I want to customize a user's desktop so that they only have access to Internet Explorer. Actually, we're deploying a self-service kiosk for customers. Is there a way to do this through Group Policy or Active Directory?

Look into using mandatory profiles.

Also, you should be able to lock the computer down pretty well using group policies.

Search for locking down a terminal server, there is a document on Microsoft's website about it. That would probably be a good starting point.

Well, I really didn't know *where* to start, except to post a message on Tek-Tips. I have info on locking down a Terminal Server, but as I understand it this affects all users (whereas I just want to lock down one user - I may be wrong).

I'll begin searching MS for locking down a website using group policy. Thanks for the tips!

Place all the PC's that are going to be Kiosks into their own OU and apply the GPO's only to that OU.

Another option is, you apply GPO's to only effect certain group's or users. Edit the GPO, right click on the policy name right at the top then choose the security tab.
