Hello, I'm trying to recreate the lettering from a T-shirt but it's in flat top bridged lettering(top of the lettering is flat and bottom of the lettering has an arc). Can Illustrator do this kind of task? Or do I have to scan the original and redraw it? If so do you guys know any software/plugin to do this? thanks in advance...

Are you trying to create text in a half moon shape?

If so, you can use the envelope/distort "make with top object"
-or-
If you are talking about a special font face, you can pick a font that is similar and create outlines and edit it like that.

I also experimented with envelope distort/make with mesh.
This method seems to work the best.

I'll send you a copy of the file if you like.

NEWBIE - type your words, select them (with the selection tool - no need to highlight words with text tool) Then go to Effect>Warp>Arc Lower and put a negative value on the Bend option.

DIMOJ-You solved my problem!
Thanks for the help guys~
