Hi,

We want to put a message that says "emails are company property...blah blah blah..."
We want to create a pop-up box (much like a java applet) that will show up whenever a user clicks on the mail database bookmark the first time they open it (mail) in the morning. Then after they click "ok" that will be the message for the day. How do we do it? We don't have a notes developer in the building so we need all the possible help/clue we can get.
Thanks in advanced!

Hi,

Personally, I would not go down that road. I know from experience that this can become very annoying for the user. Personally, I would create and 'About document' within the Notes template explaining 'All emails are company property...'. I would then set up the template so that on the launch view it would riun the 'About document' when first opened. You can adjust it so it comes up every time, but this is also annoying. The thing is, I would think by law, as long as you tell them once then it would be binding.

An easier way to do this that we do in my company is, we have replaced the windows boot up logo with our own with tells the user this sort of info (PC, software, data is company property...etc...). This covers E-mails and anything else, the user see's it every morning and they don't have to click to remove it. Agreement is default by the statement "if you continue to use this PC then you have agreed to be bound by this statement" sort of message.
