how to create a simple JSP on Websphere

Hi,

I am new to JSP ..i have to create a JSP application on websphere such that it accesses database and displays data on a webpage.
The environment is Websphere 5.1 application developer.
can anybody help me with this..
would really appreciate ur help!!

What technolgies do you know ?

You will need to know JDBC before you attempt this. If you don't know it, take the tutorial at

i know jdbc..but i dont know how to create a JSP application in WEbsphere..can you please walk me thru
this..so that i can create a JSP application that access and displays data from DB2 database in websphere..without using any beans concept..

I really think you would be better off taking a JSP tutorial - go to the "tutorials" section at

http://www.java.sun.com

I also would advise using beans - as embedding db access code in JSP is not really considered good practice ...

Why can you not use beans ?
