I have a novell 4.11 on my server and it runs on DOS. I tried a lot of commands on it but in vain.
I am trying to create a new user / login on this server. It is essential that i create the login asap. PLEASE HELP!

open nwadmin32 from the sys:public

you DONT do it on the server - you do it from a workstation

It actually does not run on DOS (It uses DOS as a boot loader, that's it). It's not a DOS Operating System. The screen is a text screen which many people mistake for a DOS system because the only other thing they recall with text screens is DOS. However, if you thik about it, there are many other systems out there that use Text screens on the server:

- Linux
- Unix (and pretty much any flavor of Unix)
- Mainframes
- NetWare

None of these are DOS. They just use Text screens and they are highly efficient because they don't have all the GUI stuff bogging down the processor.

I would suggest that if your most urgent problems are that you can't create a user, you are in way over your head and should call somebody that knows what they are doing.

When I think of URGENT problems, I think of the following:

- RAID failure - Massive amounts of data loss.
- Server Down for whatever reason - the problem undoubtedly affects an entire company.
- Untrained newly hired admin deletes an entire post office out of the GroupWise system or wipes out a volume of data without even realizing what he has done.

When I think of URGENT problems, I do NOT think of the following:

- A problem related to a SINGLE user.
- Any user administrative issue, password change, etc.

Just my insight, for what its worth.
