How to count instances of group header

I need to count how many distinct permitholders show up in a report. I have a group based on permitholder. How can I count the number of times I see the group header? Thanks.

Rather then count the GH, why not simply do a distinct count on the field? Wont that do the same thing? If you are conditionally suppressing the GH for some permit holders you would need to use a running total for the distinct count and add that suppress condition (actually the opposite of the suppress condition) as the evaluate of the RT.
