I have a 8 GB drive (partitions C (windows 98) & E) and a 40 GB drive (partitions D, F, G (windows XP), & H).

8 GB drive is connected to the Motherboard and 40 GB is connected to the SATA PCI card. I usually work with Windows XP.

I have Partition Magic 8.0 and used it for partitioning the drives.

I want to copy all the partitions to a 80 GB hard drive. What is the procedure?

Thanks for the advice/suggestion in advance.

johnberchmans,

Do you intend to format the 80gig drive as a single partition?
or as multiple partitions that are similar to what you have spanned across the current two drives?

If the latter...this is one way(free);

1. Obtain HD mfg software for setting drive up
2. Install unformatted drive
3. Boot into XP and load mfg software
4. using mfg software partition drive to partition sizes you must select and format partitions
5. Select replace the boot drive and the prog will clone the boot drive to the partition you select.
6. Do not follow the completion instructions just yet
7. reboot to 98 and install Mfg software and run
8. select replace the boot drive and the correct partition
9. Now make the new drive the boot drive and boot to an OS
10. complete the copy of your data partitions to their respective partition on the new drive.

If you desire a single partition I would suggest following steps 1-5 while selecting to partition the complete drive as one partition and then setting the new drive as the boot drive.
WIN XP allows for the installation of another OS
SEE:

after installing additional OS & apps you can setup directories for your other data files and transfer them. Then remove or reformat other drives as you desire.
