Hi,

Can someone tell me how to upgrade a EDI X12 850 map from V3020 to V3040.

We were using V3020, but now the vendor upgrade to V3040 and I have a Qualifier being kick out in transtor.

Any hint that can help me on this one?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'll try and help. You have to go into the Gentran client installed on a pc and goto "tools => standard version conversion". BAsically we follow the following procedure.

1) copy the old version map to a new name.
2) run standard version conversion
3) correct and mapping error caused by differences in versions (segment changes, element changes, etc...)

Note its important to copy your old version to a new name and convert the 'new' map. Otherwise you loose your old map under the old version. The conversion tool seems to do a 'move' to new version not a automatic copy and convert.

Hope this helps.
