I have a tape from a customer which I need to copy. It has never been inventoried or cataloged and is not from my environment. How do i go about copying it?

If this tape is a sequence 2 in a 4 sequence set, would i need to copy the others as well if all I cared about was the sequence 2? Or can you successfullly copy a tape in the middle of a sequence?

You might be able to copy tape 2 of a 4 tape sequence. But you won't be able to do anything with the data on the tape. Each tape has information on the tape header that is used for restoring the information. Without ALL the tapes the restore will fail because BE won't know how to restore the information.

As for copying the tape, I've never done that so can't help you there.
