Hello everyone,

I am wondering if it is possible to save or convert a voicemail message to an audio file like .wav or equivalent that can be saved locally to a pc's hard drive. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Brandon

What version of mail do you have? The newest Magix messaging files can be backed up to a PC using the LAN interface, including vm boxes - so I would assume from there the vm files could be converted to whatever you need. If it is an older mail system - I beleive you are out of luck.

Thanks for your post Tom!

I am currently running Merlin Messaging 4.0.42.

I tried backing up the VM system. It seems to me that all configuration info and VM messages are saved in a proprietary format and not as separate files. If anyone else knows any different ...

What about using Unified Messaging to send the VM as an attachment to an email. Could the VM then be saved onto the computer? I don't really know a whole lot about UM ... We are running Exchange 2003 and never got it working correctly.

Also, I posted this thread not to long ago and still have not been able to find an answer to it. Does anyone have any new information to help me out, or where I can go to get some help?

Thanks in advance,

Brandon

If you have Exchange - you should be able to get it set up to send voice mail as email messages - which I believe is as an attached wav file. I know I have seen some previous posts on getting Exchange to work correctly with Magix Messaging - so it should be doable (do a search on prior [posts for Exchange and Magix Messaging). I did not realize the backups where in their proprietary format, but I do know the messages are converted to wav files for email purposes.
