I have a number of files on a tutorial CD which won't open in my PC. From some valuable feedback from members of this forum it appears that the files I can't open may have been created on an Apple Mac. Does anyone have the answer on how to open/convert a Mac .fla into a PC version of Flash?

I think the only way would be to try and open them on a Mac, save a copy and zip it up.
If you provide a link to (or even e-mail) one of those .flas, to someone on Mac, maybe he can open it, and zip it up for you. Best I can think of.

Thanks OldNewbie. I don't know anyone with a Mac, but I will search around. I can't really understand how zipping a Mac file will allow it to be converted. Does the zipping process take out the references to the Mac's data and resource forks?

Can't explain why it works, but once zipped up, most Mac .flas can be opened on PC.
Now, this is all assuming those files are in fact Mac .flas and not just somehow corrupted ones.
