How to convert a string to Image

Hi, I need to implement a moving object that contains a string for an applet that I'm designing. I was just wondering if it was possible to take an image and a string and combine both to create one image which I can use to drag with the mouse or set up the image and the string so that the string is permanately placed within the image. My problem with the second solution is that if i have two separate objects, the image and the string, then it might get messy if I click on the image and the image will be dragged but not the string.

Any feedback and methods which could be used would be appreciated
