how to convert a site to subarea

Hello,
I currently have a portal area called Human Resources HQ. I want to create a new area called General Human Resources, and move the current Human Resources HQ area to become a subarea under General Human Resources. Then I can add another sub area called Human Resources NY. My question is...is it possible do go to Mangage Portal Site to create the new General Human Resoureces area, and drag the existing Human Resources HQ under General Human Resources? Would I break anything if I do it this way?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
