HOW TO CONTROL PERIPHERALS? e.g. com port, printer etc.

Can anyone help me with controlling pheripherals directly from C++?

This includes the printer port, com port and sound card. I need direct access to these items using c++ and Windows 2000.

Windows was designed with the idea that the user shouldn't control devices directly but go through virtual device drivers or something similar. There are ways, however, to get around that. Go to

and look at their FAQ. Somewhere their is an example on how to communicate with a serial port. It might be insightful.
