Can someone give a simple explanation of the steps required for users to connect to a Winframe 1.8 server via the internet rather than using dial-up ?
What security measures do I need to put in place.

If our Mailserver has a permanant broadband connection can this be used to connect to the citrix server from outside or does the citrix server have to be directly connected to the internet too ?
Thanks for the advice.
Nick

I guess there are a couple ways to do this. Here is what we did at my last employers.
Citrix Server was behind a Firewall.
We opened IP Port 1494 and UDP port 1604 (found that it still worked without the UDP port open though) and set up a rule in the Firewall. In Citrix Program Neighborhood, we gave the users a public IP address that we owned and had the firewall forward the request to the internal IP address of our Citrix Server. We had about 200 users using 6 servers this way with no problems. The benefit here is that if you ever needed to move the Citrix Server to a different segment or if you needed to users to go to a different server while you worked on the main one, you could just change the forward in the Firewall. We weren't using Published App's or Load Balancing however. If you are doing this, you need to forward to point to the Master Browser and let him decide which server to send the requests. Hope this helps! Mike Brown CCA
