Do I understand this right ?
If I disconnect my sinternal IDE CD-ROM from my Compaq ML370- server and I connect a "mastered jupered" IDE ATA hard drive (formatted with FAT32) to that IDE- connection.
And I reboot the whole system, I can have an extra drive letter ?

I would be able to do so, so I can use that extra partition to place a ghost image on it from the RAID scsi drives in my system.

Can someone help me further on this ?

You are correct. Even though Compaq say that connecting an IDE hard disk to the internal IDE controller on a Proliant server doesn't work, what they actually mean is that they do not support such a configuration. -----------------------------------------------------
"It's true, its damn true!"

WHOW, I can hardly beleive it !
So this way (by adding a temp. IDE hard disk), I can boot from my 2 Powerquest diskettes or my normal RAID- disks and write images from my expensive SCSI RAID- disk partitions to my IDE drive ?
Have I to make any change in my bios or other setups ?
Anyone some experience ?
