How to connect forms 6i to oracle database 9i

I have oracle 9i and oracle dev 6i installed on the same computer. I am having difficulties connecting the dev tool to the database. The error message I am having states a problem with the username/password. I believe I entered the right script in the tnsname.ora file. your help will be highly appreciated

If its a username/password problem then the tnsnames is set up correctly. Make sure you are entering the right un/pw combination!

And also make sure you're trying to connect to the right database. Note that when you connect from Forms 6i then by default it uses tnsnames.ora file located in its home.
