How to connect 2 units MDS 9000 between 2 catalyst switch 3500XL

Dear Tek-tips member,

I have two units MDS 9000 series. I need to connect them between 2 catalyst switch 3500XL. Those 2 catalyst 3500XL are connected using Fibre Optic cable. The MDS 9000 series has fibrechannel and gigabit ethernet ports. What the port that i will use to connect MDS 9000 series with switch 3500XL? Fibre channel or gigabit ethernet?
