I have the VPN client 1.1 with des installed on my win2k server.
How to configure it and how to configure my PIX515 to accepte this encrypted connection ?

Any URL is welcome .
Thanks.

HI.

What is your pix OS version?
Do you have PDM? What version?
Is this a brand new pix or an old one?
Your W2K server is on a remote network, not on the internal pix network, right?
Can the W2K server ping the pix outside interface and vice versa?

The VPN client 1.1 is old and obsolute.
Better get a newer version from your Cisco dealer.

Here are some links for more info:

Thanks very much :) .

NB: i have PIX515 IOS 6.2

HI.

So you probably also have PDM ver 2.x
You can use PDM to help you with the VPN configuration at the pix side, but before going to the actual configuration, make sure that you know what you're going to do and what for.

Why are you going to install the VPN client on a server?
Is it a practice lab or "home" server?
Is this a "real" server? If so, do you need VPN for the server itself or fot the network clients?

I posted a CLI template for VPN's in thread35-358901. This might be of some help as well.

I was told that you can put the Microsoft VPN client on the remote end and have the Cisco authenticate to a Windows DC (using TACACS?). Is that true?

If so, do you put something on the DC?
