I have a T1 connection that connects to a router, the router has both a DMZ and virtual server configuration, at present the router is using the only static IP address, there is about 15 workstations all getting local DHCP address'. Our ISP has given us 5 static IP address which I would like to use for web servers and for exchange servers, my problem is even when I try to use the DMZ functionallity of the router it still only sees it's static IP, this is fine for now using the virtual settings that pass certain port traffic to the web servers, but I would really like to use the other static IP's eventually for muliple DNS servers, additional web server, etc.

I was thinking maybe I need to change the routher to another manufacturer, or maybe I should contact the ISP? I'm not sure where to start, is it configuration or something else. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Dale

You can specify multiple IP on 1 interface, or put up another machine with the service that you want to offer. Or add another interface to your router.

How do I add another interface with my router, I only have one connection coming from the T1 box and one (WAN) connection on my router.

thanks for the reply,
Dale

Sorry I havent replied, I didnt get the email that you reposted. The router is a gigafast ee400R.

You should be able to set up NAT (Network Address Translation) to tie your new external IP address to an internal IP address on your LAN. I don't suggest using your router for NAT'ing because it will put a load on the router, but it can be done.

We handle the NAT'ing with a firewall device instead.

Same principles though.
