Hi I want to do this :
authorize users to connect through ftp in a specific directory. change directory should not be allowed, they will be able only to put or get files to and from this directory.
I don't know how to do that? I founded the ftpusers file but nothing else?
Can I do that with aix (AIX 5.2) ftp ?
thanx a lot

Hi Kat

Then please have a look at /etc/security/login.cfg

Regards
Oliver

You could also do this in the /etc/password file the ftpusers account shell make it "ksh -r" instead of just "ksh

I thought about restricted shell but in that case it's more than ftp that is restricted isn't it?

I didn't find anything answering my question in login.cfg file? But I need to test if maxlogins parameter can be helpfull for my other question (about limiting user connections to one login at a time).

Thanx
