Hi Everyone,

I have a mlx-20 operator phone with dss. Our extensions are from 340 to 385 with half on page 1 and the other on page 2 of dss. Our conference room extension 7123 is not currently set up on the dss. How do I add the extension to dss? Can it be added to page 1 or 2 even when it's a 4 digit extension?

Thank you,
D

Personally, I would recommend changing ext 7123, to any number that is spare in the 340-385 range.

Alex

The DSS displays numbers in 50 number contiguous blocks per page. So - the easiest solution would be to renumber all extensions to the 300 to 350 range. That way all of them would display on page 1 - instead of being split.

Thanks Tom, Alex. Can the extension range on one page be configured from 340 to 390? And I have never changed extension before. Can you point me to procedure on changing extension for a line? Thank you. D

You can only have 300 to 349 on a page and/or 350 to 399 - which is why you currently need two pages.

Renumbering your extensions is easiest - if you first renumber all of your extensions to the default numbering pattern called "setup space". This starts your extension numbering at 7100. From their you can press continue, back/exit, block, extensions - keyin 7100 and press enter - keyin the last extension number (based on your installed modules, e.g., for three 408 modules - it would be 7123 and press enter) - and then keyin your "new" starting extension number - like 300 (and press enter). Now your extensions will start with 300 and end with 323. Next renumber your DSS page 1 to start with 300 - and you are done.

Renumbering all extension might be difficult for the users. Is it possible to renumber only the 7123 extension to one of the 300s extension? Is the procedure the same?

Thanks.

The procedure to renumber a single extension is simpler. Press Menu, System Program, Start/Exit, System Renumber, Single, Extension - keyin 7123 and press Enter - keyin 323 (or whatever unused 3xx range extension is available) and press Enter. Press Home to Exit.
