We are having a synch. issue with some switches in out customer's site.
The switch comes with an SNTP configuration but it looks like the box is not able to find an SNTP server.

My problem is that I am not able to find the command option configure the rtc manually. I read the manual and it says to enter the command "clock set" but that command doesn't exist on my baystack. I thought it is an issue related to the software version but my software version is fine.
The box doesnt recognize the command and it gives only two options: synch with an SNTP or sysuptime option..
Is this a license issue? how can I configure the time information manually on the switch?

thanks in advance

If it makes you feel better I couldn't find that command on my switches running either 4.2.1 or 5.0.5

It looks like there are just options to set the clock source to SNTP or the sysUpTime value, which manual are you looking at?

official 5500 baystack documents for system configuration.
I downloaded it from the NORTEL web site and i checked both documents for version 4 and 5.

According to Nortel, that command is available for both versions
