I have a 8100 PABX system, with DT700 phones of the hardware ID: 9.1.3.0 mainly, and firmware versions: 4.0.5.0 & v5.0.8.0.

Today I received another DT700 phone from a closed-down site, reset it to factory defaults and configured the DHCP, LAN port and SIP server and port. But I don't know how to assign an extension number for it. I have access to the PABX.

Can someone help, please?

Using PCPro, after you log in and download your database, at the top of the program select programming, unregistered phones, ip phone list. Check the extension you want to use. Go to MB 15-05, you should see that extension in the phone list.

Thank you belevedere!

I forgot to mention that the phone I received today is of hardware ID 9.1.4.0 and firmware: NEC Std SIP 2.3.37.26

As you instructed, I went to PCPro, connected to PBX, downloaded the latest database and called the file 2017-02-02.pcp, went to Programming > Unregistered phones > IP Phone List, and finally I went to 15-05. See the screenshot below:

What should I expect and do now?

Once you checked to extension number (looks like x220), then set the parameters up in the phone.

Excuse me, belevedere! I'm not expert in PBX systems, and appreciate if you could walk me step by step.

On the phone I had already done some settings such as enabling the DHCP (like all other phones) and configuring the LAN port and SIP server & port. Now in PCPro, I've selected 232 as you can see in the image. But when I go to 15-05, it shows the type as MEGACO with no MAC address ... etc. What is the next step?

And a question please: when I closed PCPro, it asked me whether to save the changes. Are these changes already transferred to the PBX or they are on the .pcp that I downloaded?

Before leaving a MB click on apply, then upload, select the 3rd little box at the bottom left after clicking on the upload option. This will upload only your changes. 15-05 gets populated after the phone attempts to register.

OK.. I've clicked Apply and then Upload. I am not sure which little box you are referring to. But I left all boxes in the Upload dialogue box checked as per their default (Image below). And in the warning message, I checked that check box as well (Image below). Then, I got the Upload dialogue box again stating that the operation is complete. So I hit the Close button (Image below). After that, I clicked Disconnect, and closed PCPro.

All the telephones showed offline, so I needed to press Exit, and they all worked.

But this particular phone for which I want to configure an extension number did not take 232 or any other extension (image below). The number 1102 has been there all the time from before I did any thing. And the phone keeps restarting and cannot call any existing extension or any telephone number.

@ quazimotto:

Do you mean to reboot the phone? I did more than once. Plus the phone automatically keeps rebooting every now and then.

The button I was referring to is the third from the left just above the check mark for select all. You also do not want to include blade configuration. Uncheck that.

@ belevedere:

I went right from the beginning, downloaded and saved the data, selected 232 then went to it in 15-05, clicked Apply and then Upload, and selected that 3rd button. Here is what I've got.

That message indicates that there is no data to be uploaded. Click OK and cancel.

Are you saying that the steps that you instructed me to follow do not produce any data to be uploaded?!! And how do I make this phone work after all?!!

OK.. so once again I downloaded the data in PCPro (but didn't save it this time because I already have back up). Then I went to Programming > Unregistered Phones > IP phone List and selected 313 this time, because I think it's the one with the highest port number. After that, I reset the phone to factory defaults and assigned an IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and SIP server address & port. The phone keeps restarting without taking the extension.

I don't know what is missing. Is it possible that 313 is not the highest? Do you want to remote into my PC?
