How can I compare the data in one FM data base file to the data in another FM data base both having the same fields? There are date and time fields for each record when they are created and changed. Sometimes a copy of the original file is off site and changes are made to fields. In the meantime changes are being made to fields in the original. Is there a way to compare the data in field’s with the same name in two files and determine the most current data? Then merge the most current information into one of the files.

Set up a relationship, Checker, from Master to Traveller on, say, Serial.
LatestData =
Case(Checker::ChgeDate > ChgeDate, Checker::data, data)
where 'data' is the field holding the data you want.
Not sure just how you get on doing the actual update. Is it feasible to use a script and use the above calc in a Set Field step?
Have you considered the precision? How far apart can can the changes be? Minutes, seconds, milliseconds?

Cheers,
Paul J.
