How to close a child window when the parent is done loading

I would like to know how, or if, there is a way to close a child window once the parent window is finished loading. A have the main browser window loading a smaller window and would like to close the small window once the main window is finished loading since it takes a few seconds. Any help is greatly appreciated.

use the onlioad event, onload fires immediately after the browser loads the object (the opened window in your case)
