How To Close A Browser Window 1

I have a browser window that puts a message on the screen and then I want the user to be able to close the window by clicking on a close button or perhaps a graphic. Can I use VB Script or is Javascript required? Can anybody tell me what syntax is required to do this? Any help appreciated. Thanks
