how to clean only one drive?

Hi,
before all, sorry for the funny question but I don't know Veritas Backup well :(
I can't clean my tape with veritas because it seems that i must create a library (or pool,I don't remember)before! But I have only one drive,please can anyone be so kind to explain me how to resolve ?
