Scenario (unlikely but trying to learn/cover all my bases):
Branch office is moving and the data circuit might not be available before the new voice circuit needs to be turned up. All phone/data network/circuit configurations are staying the same. Branch G350 with 8300d normally registers to our main site but should fall back to LSP mode if the WAN is down. I normally use ASA and the GEDI interface to run all commands and I will not be physically present for this branch move. I may need to walk someone over the phone with a local ASA connection and wondering options.
* Even if the WAN is down, as long as the LAN is up, a PC on the local network should be able to run ASA and connect directly to the 8300 server and check trunk status, etc (as once the PBX goes into LSP mode, I should be able to see the gateway/phones registered locally, etc correct)? I understand that an easy test once AT&T says the voice circuit is up/DID's ported, is to just place a few calls to the office phones and confirm that way....but it would be great to have access to ASA if there are any glitches.
* I've read about logging in directly to the Gateway with a local PC by setting your IP to 192.11.13.5 and connecting to 192.11.13.6 but that gets you into the gateway and I'm not what/if any commands are available to check trunk status etc. Is there a way to do that or use ASA by somehow directly connecting to the Services port on the 8300 etc? This is where I'm lost.
I greatly appreciate everyone's time...thank you.
