How do I check the programs/files that loaded at startup when restarting windows ME?

there are two programs run at start up everytime I start my windows, simply check "start up" from "programs" doesn't work.

help!

If it's the same as Win9x, run msconfig from the Run box in the Start menu and look at the Startup tab. This will give you all the programs that are run at startup, and allow you to pick which ones you donn't want to run, but make sure you know what each program does before disabling it.

Adding to Paul's comment, also take a look at the Environment tab and also go to Start>Run, type notepad c:\windows\win.ini and check for programs loading here:

[windows]
load=
run=
