I was aware of TRANSCEND's suggestion about checking the current activity log. In this case the sp_who was a better fit. I needed to be able to check the number of users logged on from within the desktop application I am developing. I queried the db using sp_who and then created a temp table based on that information. Then I can filter the information to get a number of users logged into a specific DB on the server.
