How to Check MQ connectivity

Hi,

Here in my system i have MQ client and i have to check whether connectivity is possible with MQ manager in remote machine.

To check connection establishment, i used this command:
d:MQseries\tools\c\samples\bin>amqscnxc -x I/P

Q1: please tell me, whether the above kind of checking is correct or not?
Q2: I would like to test connection establishment using c/c++ program. Please provide me some program. Here I'm using VC++ editor & Windows NT.
