Hi folks,

Is there a way to check if a PDF file has its images compressed with JBIG2 compression or other image compression to reduce its size?

I checked the PDF file properties and there is no information about the image compression method used to create the PDF file.

I'd appreciate your support on this.

Thanks,

In Acrobat Pro: Document menu/Preflight

In subsequent window entitled Preflight profiles, click on List JPEG compressed images. Unfortunately the results window that follows does not preview the pic so you have be familiar with the pics. It's easiest to use the position as shown in the Info navigation tab and compare that to position shown on the preflight results page for a particular pic. To get that info you;ll have to click the little triangles next to each result until you can click on Graphic State Properties/images.

Using OSX 10.3.9 & 10.4.11 on a G4, G5 & Intel Macbook
