hi guys,

I need help finding out the analog extensions, which is not being used ie no handset connected at the tip on the Hipath 4000.

  because here in the company has more than a thousand analog extensions and many are not being used so I find it difficult because the cables are all connected in the rack. I would like to know how extensions are not being used.

I used this command below but it did not address my problem.

DISPLAY-SDSU: STATUS = ALL, TYPE = STNO, LEVEL = PER3, STNO = <initial_strand> && <end_send>;

Make a display with STATUS = UNACH&DEFIL
Also STATUS = NOGEN - not assigned (for swu).
Than you can make a filter in Excel for the output.

If an analog extension cable is not connected to a phone you will still get ringing tone and it will still show ready.
Keep proper records with analogue extensions, ring them and await answer, if no answer then wedge them out at the frame.
Wait for end users to contact you to ask for re-instatement then put a label on the PERSI and make a note in your records

I do something similar to sbcsu. If I don't know what it is or if it's still in use I deativate it and wait for someone to whine. If no one whines in 3 months or so I go ahead and delete it.

My other suggestion (which I keep turned off because it can be annoying) is there is an option in the station configuration that has the system periodically test the extension for problems. I do not know if that will report a device that is not plugged in or not, but I know it is there and I have it turned up on my elevator phones just in case it works.... If others use this more than I do they may be able to comment further.

As the analog port will show ready if the phone is there or not, you might be better using call logging to find extns that have not made a call in 2 months.

I have all those toys too :) Big brother definitely sees all and knows all. Big brother doesn't record all yet, but give it a couple years and a few more lawsuits! :)
