I have a website and i would like to write a program that i can schedule to run every so often that will check to see if my website is up and running and if it is not then have the program either email me or page me. First question is can this be done and if so how would i go about writing this? Second question is there already software out there that does this?

Thanks in advance!

To answer your first question, you want to look at the inet control. It's basically an embedded web page that you can control through code. From there you can open web pages and check the content to make sure that you are getting the expected response. You can create this as an executable and make it run as a scheduled task. As for your second question, I'm sure there is something but would just search google.

Good luck!
