I had to reinstall RedHat 6.2 due to a hard drive defect. During the install I selected 640X480 mode. Now that it's up and running I dont like it. Can I log out of xwindows, edit the XF86COnf file, just by placing 1024X768 first on the Modes line and 640X480 last then restart X and expect nothing to blow up on me? Or is there an easier (or any) way to change screen resolutions after Linux is fully installed? If not, can I run the installer just to the point of configuring the video and quit? [sig][/sig]

hi,

that should take care of it without probs. do take a backup of the original although.

If that hasn't worked or you're not comfortable editing mode lines and the like then log in as root and type Xconfigurator, this will take you through the config process again and allow you to update your resolution choice(s)
