just wonderering if anyone knows how to change a psd file to a vectorised illustrator outlined format, i'm a bit lost.

You could use live Trace In Illustrator Cs1 and Cs2. An old School way is to cut a clipping path around the type and export paths to Illustrator in Photoshop.

Live Trace was introduced in CS2, so in CS you couldn't use it.

The pen tool in Illustrator may be your best bet. Set for a narrow red stroke, no fill, then pen away.

It would be good to learn all the shortcuts and get proficient at it, might aswell, it's the most important tool in Illustrator.
