What are the steps to change the ruler width from 7" to 7.5"? I have a subreport that is 7" and I need to size it up with the details on the main report. All I find is the dialog to change the margins.

Thanks,
Brent
(Using CR 8.5 developer.)

Brent:

Your margins can effect your usable report space. As you know, you can check and change this by File --> Page Setup.

If your margins are effecting your reprot width, try going to File --> Printer Setup. Look at the Paper Size drop down list. Ensure that you are using the type of paper that you are printing to. Letter or Legal should give, depending on margins, 7.5. If you have A6 or A5, you may be looking at 3.5 to 5.

Hope this helps

Brian,
I went in and checked the paper, also moved some fields on the design page that then overlapped the right edge of the page ruler, then next time I looked, the ruler size was 7.5.

What happened?

What was the paper size set to? Besides moving some fields around, did you change anything else? ~Brian

The paper size was set to 8.5 X 11. No other conscience changes, must have been subconscience, and this is the wrong forum for that :)
So, to sum it up, we can change the margins (File, Page Setup...)and also the paper size (File, Printer Setup...). Did I miss any other places to change the size of the design screen?
