How to change the HTML - structure of webparts?

Hi there,

I tried to find out, how to change the HTML structure of the webparts.

I want to split the first tablerow (where the headline is located) into 3 tablerows. The goal is to place 2 background-images with round corners in the upper left/right corner of the headline row to make it look more elegant.

Hello,

If you are using SharePoint Services you can open the sites up in FrontPage 2003 and do a lot of customization there. However make sure you bake everything up before doing anything. It is very easy to break a site while playing with FrontPage (I have that experience! ). If possible play around with a testserver and testsite.

You can convert webparts to XLST view and customize them after that. But I am not a programmer/webdeveloper so I can't be of much help when it comes to the actual modification.

Yeah Thomas, thanks for the security advice. I've also made my experiences with that, believe me

I've played around with Frontpage and the XSLT view. I even found out how to change the HTML stucture of the inner part of the webpart. Thanks so much for that hint.

But I think that these changes will only take effect locally on the single webpart.
What I wann do is editing the "source code" that creates the output.

I guess it's somewhere in a XML file. Could this be?
And if, Where?
