hi,

to run a billing system called infranet 6.1 i've to change the character set of an SQL Server 7 database to US7ASCII (for english version of infranet) or to UNICODE (for international versions).
after searching i really couldn't find an option in SQL Server to set or change the character set! (just an option to set the codepage .... but there exists no codepage like unicode or us7ascii .... so i guess it's the meant option)

regards
markus

The Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 Administrators Companion, page 52:

"Caution Be sure to select the appropriate character set from the start. If you need to change the character set later, you must rebuild your databases and reload your data."

In other words, the character set is specified when the database is created and it cannot be changed.

Ain't computers wonderful!
