ok, i'm a lil' new to this so i apologize for the newbie question.

I made a logo using "Corel Draw 9" and it has the extension .cdr. I'd like to convert it to either .jpg .gif or .bmp. Any tips would be appriciated. TIA

You can export to any of those formats. For print purposes use bmp or tif, for the web/email use jpg or gif. Use jpeg when using graduating tones/blends and gif for solid colours.

When you export select the whole of your logo first, go file/export and check the 'selected only' box. You will also be given different colour options like greyscale/rgb/cmyk. If you are exporting for the web use paletted (8 bit) or greyscale.

If you want a transparent background you will have to use gif.

Hope that answers your question.
