How To Change the Attachments folder

I'm looking to replace my existing PC with a new one, on the new PC I would like to put my attachments directory elsewhere - which I can do - but how do I repoint all current email to use that folder assuiming I copy the content of the current folder into it as well ?

In Eudora simply go to \Tools\Options\Attachments. On the Attachments page you will see a raised 3D box under "Attachment Directory". Go into this raised box and erase what in there now (which should be where you are currently sending your Attachments) and type in the new location you want to change it to. That should take care of it.

But what happens if the folders are different, i.e. the old folder was somehting like C:\eudora\attach\ and the new one would be c:\program files\qualcomm\eudora\attach\ ? and I had existing attachments ?

Sorry. I don't have a clear answer to your question about existent Attachments.

Two sugestions:

1. Leave the OLD files--the ones you're talking about above--in the old location and just put all NEW Attachments in the new location. I know this is not very elegant, but with harddisk space basically free nowdays you should consider it.

2. I don't know exactly how, but you should be able to change the location of your PRESENT Attachments with a text editor.

Just shift your old attachments to the new directory using windoze exploder.

The actual move is not the problem, niether is the diskspace, the problem is that each attachment is referenced in the Emails to the specific folder and regardless of what folder I move the attachments to in the GUI, this link is not updated.
