Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop I was able to set ForegroundLockTimeout to 0. This will let the applications take the focus. But my problem is that it
only works with my user!

I need this reg key to work with any other existing or new
user that will logon into my win2000 computer.

How could I set this o be for all users??

I already tried to set this in the .Default key but
didnt work either.

Thanks

We already tried in the HKLM... but doesnt work.

And about pushing the key.... is there a way to push
it to all the other existing AND new users automatically?
And this even if they are not Admin on the machine?

thanks

Through the logon script.
One choice is for any user that logs on:

regedit /s [exported_key.reg]

You export the HKCU key with regedit to a file [exported_key.reg] You fully path it to the server.

But throught the logon script this wont work since
they cannot modify the registry since they're not Admins!

Unless you have another way?

The logon script runs not under the user permissions, but under the Local System account.

In the alternative, use Scheduled Tasks. You can assign as a schedule 'at logon' any RUNAS permission with credentials you might need.

Could you guide me on how to do this
using the logon script? Or point me a document
that I could follow to activate this?

Thanks

Lets deal with new users first. Use the Default Profile to handle them:
For existing users, either the logon script with a RUNAS shortcut:
Or export the key, and use regedit /s as I discussed above using Scheduled Tasks at logon. You simply create a .bat or .cmd file and point Scheduled Tasks to that file on the server with full pathing.

Thanks!!

It worked.... The only problem now is if the user
is moving the mouse.... Then the window will
flash on the taskbar.

But if the user is typing or not doing anything
the windows pop correctly!

Any idea for the mouse issue?
