Hi,
I'd like to change the IP address of a printer without having to delete it and recreate it in SAM. Could someone please let me know which file to edit?
Thanks
Anne

Its not that simple you can edit the /etc/bootptab to change the printer's IP. HOWEVER the printer will still think that it is the old IP until you reset or cycle the power on the printer. It will then wake up and look for a bootp server and get an IP from the first one it finds.

Also sam just dumps you into jetadmin to config printers so you can just go to jetadmin direct.

If you are using Jetadmin, you can edit the driver file for the printer you wish to change.

Eg:

cd /usr/spool/lp/interface

In this dir, you will find a file with the name of the printer.

vi (printername)

Search for "IP"

Change the IP.

Hope this helps.
