Hi,

fairly new at RH
installed it on old PC and everything works fine but I need to change port for telnet though port 110
not sure what file to modify?

any ideas????

thanks

You want to telnet to remote port 110 from your local machine?

If so try;

$ telnet host.example.com 110

Hope this helps. [smurf]

Or do you want to change the port telnetd is listening on to 110?
If so, change your /etc/xinetd.d/telnet file and change the port = 23 line to port = 110. //Daniel

I would not do that 110 is for POP mail unless of course you want to telnet in to your POP3 account to check mail then telnet domain.com 110. I would not allow Telnet at all on the box bad Idea use ssh. telnet will send all your passwords in clear text.
