I successfully imported workstation. I look in the zenwsreg.log and it shows

"Successfully updated workstation: HP-SUNRISE-WIN2000.ZfDWorkstations.HP"

The name of the machine is SUNRISE. How can I change the name SUNRISE to another name?
I changed the name SUNRISE in the properties of My Computer but it does not change. I don't know if this is the right way to change the registered name.

wrong forum, but okay.

Once the machine is imported, the name is pretty meaningless.

If you look at the registry keys [HKLM\Software\Novell\Zenworks] you will find the context of the workstation object. This is how it know were to log into the tree and find it's object. You can change the name of the PC to your hearts content, but you will not change the registry key inturn you will not alter the name of the eDirectory object.

To acomplish what your looking for, you must first unregister the PC then re-register it. Use the zwsreg tool. Using the -unreg command will kill the link with the eDir object and clear the registry key. Then just issue the zwsreg command to re-register it and a new object will be created.

delete the old object.

In ConsoleOne, right-click the object, select Rename.
Alternately, establish a different naming convention in the Import policy, delete the workstation from C1, and re-register.
