How to change main report header when different subreports displays?

Hi,

I have a report that have several subreports embedded. How can i change a label in the main header section to reflect the type of the subreports being reported?

i.e.

i have 2 subreports, one by region, one by store type...

how can i make a label in page header of the main report to display "by region" when the subreport is by region, and display "by store type" when it is by store...

hope i explained it clearly

How are you selecting which subreport appears? In code or query?

the subreports are coming from their corresponding tables from make-table queries. all the subreports are full reports capable to display individually...

I am thinking of creating a field in each subreport-table that will indicate the specific grouping convention of that subreport, but i clueless on how to change/display that information in the label on the page header of the main report..

OK. You say that you want the header to change when one of the subreports is displayed? Are both subreports in the report and always displayed, or does one or other of the subreports appear in the report based on some criterion?

When the main report runs, all the subreports are always displayed. the report is basically several subreports grouped together, currently with a title on the page header and a page count on the footer. i want to add a textbox on the pager header to display some information about that subreport for that section of the report... and another set of info when another subreport is displayed.


i.e.

p.1-5 from subreport 1

---> the textbox in page header will show "grouped by store"

p.6-10 from subreport 2

---> "grouped by region"

p.11-15 from subreport 3

---> "grouped by items"


i am trying to set an event on the subreports to change the text box in the page header when that subreport is being display... dont know if that is a good way
